Nature Walk

So excited to say this was on the Watch List for CSI!

I did this layout for the C'est Magnifique sketch using the gorgeous June kit. Here is the sketch:

I also did this for CSI Challenge #77:

My evidence: leaves, envelope, twine, pearls, wood, vintage botanical and circle tags!
My testimony: I put a story into an envelope and used the inspiration word Nature for my title. The story tells about another nature walk we took so many years ago and how much they have grown since, though we always find the walk and the treasures we find magical!!

Fancy

I used the July C'est Magnifique kit to make this layout and get it uploaded just under the wire. I just love this chain chippie!! So glad there are two in the set to use again! This photo of my daughter I printed out last week is just perfect with this as she has lots of bead necklaces on which remind me of the chain...

Beautiful Prima Flowers and fussy cutting from the UHK and Kaisercraft papers in the kit.

I'd love to enter it in the Blue Fern Studio sketch challenge. Have a look at the gorgeous sketch:

Sugar Creek Hollow DT Reveal - Your Flag Colours

I am actually American, from Maryland, but I have been living in Ireland since 1997, married to an Irish husband! I chose to do the colors for the Irish flag (orange white and green!) for this challenge since it has been my home for so long!

I used Kaisercraft papers, a vintage image, ribbon from my stash, and a great stamp and die set from Inspired by Stamping... I also used IBS's awesome lace tape...gorgeous crochet lace with adhesive already attached to it!! The gorgeous doily die is from Couture Creations.

If you love vintage or shabby chic themed card making, I hope you will come over and join us at Sugar Creek Hollow!!

I'd love to enter this in the Simply Create Your Flag challenge!

For our Core'dinations Blog Hop I was given some gorgeous glitter 6x6 card stock to play with. I wanted to do something different with these glimmery shimmery papers and I decided to make a canvas!!

It features Core'dination Glitter Silk CardstockFantasia Ivy Set and Irish Dreams Doily Dies and the gorgeous Endless Dreams Aladdin's Key Decorative Die.

I built up the canvas underneath by using a doily die cut as mask here and there, then layered teal, pink and brown mists and finished it off with a white wash under the central doily.

I glued down the doilies and keys randomly and die cut the center of the Fantasia Irish Dreams Doily Die with plain white cardstock, stamping the sentiment.

I continued to add texture to the canvas with some more random misting and stamping. This canvas really shimmers and shines. I hope you enjoy it!

My Guilty Pleasure

I missed the deadline to enter this at Once Upon a Sketch, by minutes I think!! Arg...that is what being a zombie after a night up with small children does to you! She was better by morning, but I was dragging! I really did have fun pulling out some flowers and photographing my drawer of flowery goodness though, so am still glad I did it.

Here is the gorgeous sketch:

The theme this month was Guilty Pleasures :) I decided buying scrappy supplies and quite possibly my flowers were my guiltiest pleasure at the moment. While chatting with a scrappy friend online I said, "Geesh I have a crazy amount of flower packs, I bet I have 50!!" Well, I started counting them and got to 110...on the first row of two in the overstuffed drawer! And I don't buy flowers anymore...very often!! I swear!

I used my June C'est Magnifique kit, full of Maja Designs Spring Basics, gorgeous flowers and embellies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Frosted Designs Reveal - Polka Dots

I am excited to say I won the Zeus and Zoe challenge!!

This week at Frosted Designs our challenge was to use polka dots! I used a polka dotted paper from Les Papiers de Pandore and a polka dotty mask for good measure! I used my gorgeous kit from C'est Magnifique to make this along with items from my Paper Wings Productions May Mixed Media Nesting Components kit, more of the coffee filter word art, the flowers, die cuts and bling!

I used the gorgeous sketch  and mood board from Scrap Around the World:

I'd also like to enter this in the Zeus and Zoe Favorite Things challenge and the About a Girl Doily Challenge.

For the Zeus and Zoe challenge we are supposed to do a layout about our favorite things, but I turned it around and did my daughters favorite things...hats and her two American Girl dolls! She just loves them, and I am glad because those dolls aren't cheap! I love that she still loves to play with dolls, my girls are growing up way too fast for me!

Another Cardmaking Day!

I usually am doing posts these days for DT work and not enough other projects... Today I did a bunch of fun cards as commissions for a few friends and want to share them with you.

These are for one of my friends for all the teachers that help her son!! I used the stamp set again from Paper Wings Productions May Nesting Components kit. Lots of thankfulness here :

I loved how this baby card turned out!

I wanted to try a sponging technique I learned from Inspired by Stamping's Woo Hoo Wednesday 105 tutorial:

My final card is one I did for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #57

Delightful

So excited to say this was featured at Sketchabilities!!

I used my yummy Scraps of Elegance June kit to make this layout for the Sketchabilities Challenge #93. It is the gorgeous photo I took of my daughter modeling the hair clip I made for the first round of the May Arts Design Team call and I knew I just had to scrap it. I saw Erin Blegen once use a photo in this way, the same photo but in two sizes layered on top of each other...I like the effect!!

Here is the gorgeous sketch I used:

I have also made this for the Prima PPP and would love to enter it into the Stencil and Paste challenge at Scrap Africa.

A Glorious Fourth - Couture Creations DT

Cathi here, being a bit confusing!!!  I know, Australia doesn't celebrate the Fourth of July, neither does Ireland, where I live!! But I hope you will humor me for this card, as I am American and grew up in the United States, and sometimes it is nice to be nostalgic!! I just love to use vintage images with my cards, but I wanted to pair them with my Couture Creations embossing folders, dies and pearls to make a red white and blue Fourth of July card!!

I started by using the Couture Creations Fresh and Fun Large Powder Puff embossing folder.  I thought the shapes reminded me of stylized fireworks and was a perfect backdrop for my image. The paper is from the Incandescent range from Paper Temptress and actually has a metallic gold sheen to the red, white, and blue papers, just gorgeous!

I have Scallop Square Nesting Dies, and put two together to make my rectangular shape, hiding the join under the festive ribbon.

I cut a slit into the card stock with my Couture Creations Craft Knife and threaded the ribbon through so it could lay flat.

To make my rolled flowers I used the Couture Creations Daisy Nesting Die's smallest flower and cut a spiral into each of them, rolling and securing the flower and adding a pearl in the center of my flowers. I used my Couture Creations Premium Non-Stick Scissors to make the cuts.

I used the Endless Dreams Tranquility Decorative Die, which again reminded me of fireworks, to embellish the card.

To put the card together I used 18mm double sided tape to attach the scallop squares to the embossed card base.

I attached the vintage image and sentiment with Couture Creations Foam tape to add dimension. I love this foam tape so much, I don't have much left!! I think I need to put in a request for more soon!! I just love the dimension it gives to cards and layouts!

I tied the bow around the card, added the sentiment and glued the flowers and flourishes into  place.

I would love to enter this in the Inspired by Red White and Blue Challenge at Creative Inspirations Paint!
